History of ARC Blackpool

Fylde Coast ARC was established in 1982 by our Managing Director David Hyland and is a professional independent repair operation dealing with all car and light commercial accident and insurance repair work. From small beginnings of just one apprentice, David Hyland’s passion for repairing vehicles has enabled him to build a company with around 40 employees servicing some of the largest insurance companies in the UK.

Recruitment

As a family run business we strive to maintain a very personal and friendly service for all of our customers and because we have been in this industry for over 30 years we have a well respected reputation with Insurance Companies and other organisations. Our aim is to offer all of our customers the reassurance of a first class repair with the minimum of fuss and inconvenience – a service which is second to none. Our professional, friendly and helpful staff will provide all the advice and assistance you need in order to make the whole experience as pleasant as possible.

The key component of our strategy to repair accident damaged vehicles to the very highest level is the British Standards Kitemark. The Kitemark is already well recognised and trusted as a symbol of Quality Assurance in many other industries in the UK and inspires customer confidence in the high levels of service and best business practices that come with obtaining it. Fylde Coast operates an ongoing training and skills programme for all employees which has seen the majority of our team achieve the ATA qualifications and pass advanced certificates in their own disciplines.

We are very excited to announce the launch of our new bodyshop on the Blackpool Enterprise Zone!

In May 2012 David Hyland our Managing Director, together with 3 other team members cycled a gruelling 1000 mile cycle ride from Silverstone to Monaco. They achieved this in just 10 days raising money for CLIC Sargent, a charity that helps children and young people suffering from cancer and their families. During the journey they burnt 6000 calories a day, climbed over 35,000 feet of ascents and turned their pedals nearly 500,000 times in the 1,000 mile cycle ride.

We were the first Independent Bodyshop in Lancashire to achieve the prestigious PAS 125 Kitemark standard which is now BS10125:2014. The Kitemark ensures our customers have complete peace of mind that their vehicle has been repaired safely and to the highest standards.

We expanded into the Palmer Avenue site Blackpool in 1988. This was a very exciting time for the Company going from a site that was only 2000 sq feet to a site which was 12000 sq ft.  We went from servicing just the Fylde area to the North West area which included South Cumbria, Southport, Preston, and the Blackburn areas.
